Sally Ritchie supports the teachers at The School Around Us by working with both the middle group and older groups as a supplement for reading, writing, and math. She holds a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning and is working toward her Literacy Certification. After earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Sally discovered that her true interest was to work with children. Through intense education and training in The University of Southern Maine’s Extended Teacher Education Program, she was able to pursue her passion.

Though teaching is her passion, Sally’s true love is her daughter, Linnea. Sally has been able to stay home with Linnea since pregnancy and is now re-entering the work place on a part time basis while her daughter attends pre-school.

Sally grew up in upstate New York and resided there until moving to Colorado to complete her Bachelors Degree and to work as a small business administrator. In 1999, she re-located to Maine, where she’s confident she’ll stay the rest of her life. Sally enjoys activities with her daughter, boating and fishing with her family, reading, photography, and gardening.
