Wizard Camp (7/27-7/31, ages 7 – 10)

Come on a magical fantasy adventure through the world of wizardry.  Discover the wonders of wizards while you are creating your cloak, making magic potions, and gaining knowledge of spells and the secret lives of wizards.  Whether you have been using your wizardly powers all your life, or are just beginning to discover the wizard inside you, there is something for everyone here.  If wizards excite you, we invite you to join us in the magic.

Improv Theatre Camp (7/20-7/24, ages 9 – 14)

Do you like to make music?  Join this camp and you will play musical games, sing songs, and create original rhythms and lyrics.  Kids learn fundamentals of music including musical notations, symbols, dynamics and identify elements of music such as pitch, rhythm, loud, soft, and fast and slow.

Wilderness Camp (7/6-7/10, ages 8 – 14)

Come explore the natural world with us, spending each day getting to know a different place in Maine. Through a rich variety of activities – including hiking, swimming, group games, drawing and writing, and scientific observation – campers will learn about environmental stewardship, the Earth’s ecosystems, and the interconnectedness of life. Possible destinations include Bradbury Mountain, Wells Reserve, and Mount Agamenticus.

In this camp, young actors will bring stories to life through creative movement, storytelling and theatre games.  Campers will have the opportunity to create costumes and scenery to bring magic to the stage.  Parents, be ready for your children’s impromptu performance on Friday!

Outpost Camp (7/13-7/17, includes one overnight, ages 8 - 12)

Create a primitive campsite in the back woods of SAU.  On the first day the group will carry out supplies and water to a spot of their choosing.  This will be our “outpost” for the week, where we will construct a shelter, fire pit, solar still and more.  Each day the group will hike out and practice many skills involved in outdoor living.  Try your hand at fire building, outdoor cooking, lashing, whittling, and simply carpentry (using hand saws, carving knives and hatchets).  Lunch will be cooked at our campsite.  The week will culminate with and overnight on Thursday.  Campers must come prepared every day with a backpack, rain gear, a complete change of clothes, water and snacks.

Music Camp (7/20-7/24, ages 5 – 8)

With an emphasis on teambuilding games, improvisation, and creativity, this camp provides a no-pressure, all-fun, environment for all budding actors and actresses.  Participants will learn a variety of performance techniques, create their own skits, costumes and sets and engage in the art of laughter and entertainment.  Family and friends will be invited to join us for an interactive activity on Friday afternoon!

Imagination Theatre Camp (7/27 - 7/31, ages 11 – 16)

Basics of Wire Working (7/13-7/17, ages 9 – 12)

Create one-of-a-kind jewelry for yourself or a special friend.  Completed projects may include earrings or pendant, bracelet or anklet, Y necklace, and wrapped stone or beach glass pendant.  this camp will include a beach trip to find treasures to wrap and wear.
