How to Apply 

SAU’s enrollment process seeks to attract students and families that are in alignment with the mission and philosophy of School Around Us.

Our application process has been carefully designed so families have the opportunity to learn about the many facets of SAU as well as the parent community and commitments. As an intentionally small community, we have a limited number of spots open each year for both full-time and part-time learners. These spots are filled on a rolling basis and we utilize a Wait List when necessary.

Enrollment Process:

  • Please spend time reading each part of our website to learn as much as you can about SAU - our educational philosophy, our values, etc…

  • When you’re ready to come and have a tour of our campus or if you have unanswered questions after reviewing our website, please reach out to us to set up a call/schedule a tour - info@schoolaroundus.org

  • When you’re ready to apply, Complete the online application (form below) and pay the nonrefundable $75 fee.  We ask that you provide an educational reference who knows your child as both a learner and a participant in group/social settings if possible.

  • After we receive your application, we will reach out to set up a time for your learner to have a visit day at SAU. (Note, SAU or a prospective family may request multiple visit days in some situations)

  • While you’re touring, visiting and learning about SAU, we encourage you to join us for a Community Day or Community Gathering to get to know us better!

  • After you have had an opportunity to tour SAU and your child has had a chance to have a visit day with us, we will schedule a meeting between you, and a few of our Educators/Staff.  We will discuss your educational values, vision, questions and what life at SAU is like.

  • After that meeting, we’ll all take some time to reflect and then determine together whether enrollment is a good fit for your family and for SAU.

To provide space for questions, a more formal review/check-in is scheduled between new families and the Enrollment Coordinator and the New Family Support person after the family has been enrolled for 2-3 months.
