How to Apply

Our application process has been carefully designed so families have the opportunity to learn about the many facets of SAU as well as the parent community and commitments. As an intentionally small community, we have a limited number of spots open each year for both full-time and part-time learners. These spots are filled on a rolling basis and we utilize a Wait List when necessary.

Complete the online application ($75 fee), below.
After we receive your application, we’ll reach out to set up a time for you to have a tour of SAU. (Note, sometimes you’ve had a tour before you complete the online application, our process flows differently based on individual desires)
Next, we will schedule a visit day for your child(ren).
While you’re touring, visiting and learning about SAU, we encourage you to join us for a Community Day or Community Gathering to get to know us better!
After you have had an opportunity to tour SAU and your child has had a chance to have a visit day with us, we will schedule a meeting between you, and a few of our Educators/Staff. We will discuss your educational values, vision, questions and what life at SAU is like.
After that meeting, we’ll all take some time to reflect and then determine together whether enrollment is a good fit for your family and for SAU.

Beginning in Sept. 2020, students at the SAU Co-Learning Center may be enrolled full-time (5 days/week) or part-time (2 days/week).

Educational Reference

The educational reference is preferably someone who knows your child as both a learner and a participant in group/social settings. If applying for more than one child, you may provide the same reference for both children, if applicable, or include two separate references.

Parents play an integral part of the running of the school and are expected to participate in regular meetings, workdays, and other events throughout the year. How will this mesh with your family's schedule and needs?
