Learner shares are a chance to celebrate our learning. We reflect, we create and we educate others through individual and group projects.

In November 2022, we completed a community wide study of Water. The Educators felt it was the right time to celebrate with a Learner share.

Our learners decided that the best way to make an impact on the water crisis in our world was to educate others. This took many forms - videos, murals, pamphlets, sensory art displays, photographs and hands-on activities.

We started the evening gathered together, as a whole community, to listen to our learners perform songs about water in our Pavilion. We enjoyed an outdoor pot luck meal together and afterwards toured the exhibits inside. Below are some examples of the projects shared that evening. We can’t capture the chatter, connection, delicious aromas, good will and love that was felt all around us, but we hope this will give you an idea of what a SHARE can be like.

Video Projects

Below are two examples of videos from a larger project called News Around Us. News Around Us is a video newscast which informs people about the water crisis. This Middle Spiral idea ended up including video projects from all the spirals.

The Fall of Ecoli by the Older Spiral

The Battle For Water by The Middle Spiral

A group of learners had the idea of a sensory overload experience around water. The Educators thought this was a very cool idea and worked with them to make it happen. The library was transformed into a dark room with just a few chairs. Projected on the wall was this video. You will see water images dispersed with water sounds and learner and educator voices. It was quite powerful.
